  • Scene #1
    Added May 27th-June 2nd:

(Note: Takes place in the beginning of movie)
Billie, Roxanne and Louise-walking away from the club. Billie has her walkman on and she sings (badly, slighty comical) to a song blasting over the headphones.

Billie: Don't leave me this way/I can't survive/can't stay alive, without you lo-ove..

Roxanne whistles. Louise pulls the headphones off her ears.

Louise: Billie, you got Leon Walker up in your face...

Roxanne (to Louise): ...She could care less.

    Louise: True...

Billie: I care! I just don't want him to KNOW I care...

(Note: Leon Walker originally signs Billie to a record deal, which DJ Dice later takes over. This is before Leon signs Billie)

  • Scene #2
    Added May 27th-June 2nd:

Billie and Dice are in the back of a cab, moving through midtown traffic. An Iranian CABBIE drives, the radio tuned in softly. THe song playing fades and we hear the DJ.

DJ: ...what's up New York...ben getting requests for this dance tune all night...you all have been hearin' it at the clubs...

We start to hear the opening bars of the first CLUB/DANCE SONG.

DJ: (continuing) New York's very own DJ DIce with his latest, Billie, doing "I Wanna Be Your Lover."
(Note: This title could of been changed to "Loverboy") BIllie can't believe her ears. She grabs Dice's arm, scream:

BIllie: IT's on the radio! On the radio...

Dice bangs on the glass partition

Dice (to Cabbie): Turn it up!!!

Billie: Oh my God!!! Dice! It's ME!

The cabbie doesn't understand, just looks at Dice blankly. Stopped at a light, Dice is able to jump out and open the passenger door in front. The cabbie cowers as Dice reaches in...and turns the radio UP. He stands next to the cab, both doors open, letting the song fill the night air.

DJ: I hear Billie's coming out with a dance album soon...I just love the break-down section on this track...it makes the song

Dice (screaming): Did you hear that? Did YOU HEAR THAT!! That's what I been using on our NEW sh*t-

Billie: Oh my God! Oh my God!!

Dice: That's what I've been using! It makes the song! Did you hear that?!

The light changes and suddenly everyone is honking at them as they block the flow of traffic. BIllie dives into a PAY PHONE booth (just on the corner where they've stopped) Dice jumps onto the hood of the ca and yells to the angry faces and honking cars:

Dice: This is US!! This is HER singing!!

BIllie leans out, laughing, overcome with the moment as she dials the phone and we...(SMASH CUT TO LOUISE)

(Note: This scene was featured on Access Hollywood a while back Screen cap on right)

  • Scene #3
    Added June 3rd-June 9th:

    INT. Dice's Bedroom-Moments Later

Dice sits on the edge of the bed. Billie stands just in front of him, their knees touching. Billie quietly unbuttons her shirt, stands there, in her bra, nervous.

Dice reaches out, wraps his arms around her, his head rests on her chest.

    Dice: You really like me?

    Billie nods, overcome.

    Dice (continuing; whispered): Why me?

Billie: Why YOU? Why ME? God, I never thought you'd ever look at me.
    (a beat)
Don't you know how special you are?

He slowly lets his hands run up and down her body. He pulls her down, gently. In the BACKGROUND a sexy, R and B slow jam plays on the radio.

We pull BACK, out the window, until Dice and Billie become two small figures set in the window of an urban landscape, intertwined, a single silhouette. The song fades...

  • Scene #4
    Added June 3rd-June 9th:

    (Billie's first photo shoot)
    Rose: Gorgeous

Francoise: You ARE the only one could pull this off, girl

Billie (looking around): What...Where's Roxy and Weez-?

Dice (stepping over): On a break. They're fine...they're eating McDonalds

    Billie: Oh.

Dice: (whispered): The director wanted to use some other dancers.

Billie (concerned): They're okay with that?

    Dice: Yeah! Fine! Totally cool!

Billie's not sure if she should believe him, but her attention turns as a Francoise holds up a full length mirror

Billie looks at herself in the bikini: there's still something of the awkward teen in her. She's suddenly selfconscious. She looks at Dice, pleading.

Billie: It's a little...revealing. Can you just say something?

The director is suddenly right there, gazing at Billie

Director: Perfect! I love this! It's Audrey Hepburn! It's Martha Graham!

Dice (quietly to director): I don't know. It's kind of skimpy.

Director: The idea is a sterile, post-modern statement...a visual startkness against the backdrop of International Exotica.

  • Scene #5
    Added June 15th-June 22nd:

Billie (Quietly): I havn't seen that in, like, ten years...it's from Mrs. Wilson, the social worker at my old foster home. She gave it to me when I left-stuff my Mom had sent me; I never opened it.

Dice opens it, pulls out an accompanying letter and hands it to Billie to read. Her eyes dart back and forth in silence, her face floods with emotion.

    Dice: What? What's it say?

Billie is perfectly still. She waits a moment before holding the letter out for Dice.

Dice (continuing; Reading): "Billie...I wanted you to have these things of your mother's she sent me after you came to our home...the agency wouldn't allow her to contact you...I know it broker her heart when you were taken away by social services.

    Dice looks up at her.

Dice (continuing): Taken away? I thought she gave you up-

Billie meets his eyes, nods: that IS what she'd always thought.

Dice (continuing; Reading): "...I thought you'd want to have these things of hers-"

Dice holds up a chain with a small gold heart

Billie: She wore that...all the time. I never, ever saw her without this on.

Dice comes over, puts his arms around Billie, kisses her neck and carefully fastens the heart around it.

Dice: I can't believe this. They took you from her.

Billie: She was a drug addict, Dice. She was totally f*cked up.

Dice: You don't know what really happened, Billie. Trust me. I've seen a lot of people get really sick around drugs. You don't know what was her choice and what wasn't.

Billie is silent, thinking about this.

Dice (continuing): Maybe she's been trying to find you this whole time. You never tried to find her?

Billie (quietly): I made some attempts...I just didn't think she's want to see me....

  • Scene #6
    Added June 17th-June 24th:

    Photographer: Billie! Billie!

    Photographer (continuing): Over Here!

Billie and Dice step out of their limo. She's fully glamourous, gorgeous. Dice puts an arm around Billie, but all the photographers motion for him to step aside...OUT of the frame.

Photographer (continuing): Can we get JUST Billie?

Dice smiles gamely as the bright FLASHES go off. Billie's P.O.V.: Everything seems to move in SLO-MO: like a surreal fantasy, a Cinderella dream, people are actually calling her name, taking her picture! Someone (GIRL, 16) reaches out, holds the album cover for her to sign.

Fan: PLEASE! Can I have an autograph?

Billie looks over her shoulder, thinking it must be someone else...

    Billie: Me?

Moved, Billie stops, talks to the FAN, a couple of other people stop to meet her...

  • Scene #7
    Added June 25th-July 2nd:

    NOTE:
It is believed that Eric Benet plays the part of Rafael and this is where they first talk about their first duet!!

He sites down on Billie's other side, ignoring Dice. Rafael takes Billie's hand, holds it...doesn't let it go. Their eyes meet and there's a sudden sharp pause in all the chaos. A spark, the meeting of kindred spirits.

    Rafael: I'm a big fan.

    Billie (Incredulous): Of MINE?

    He smiles, nodding.

Rafael: You write any of your own songs?

    Billie (shrugging): I've written a little...nothing I feel...confident about.

Rafael (nodding): Who knows? Seems like you got what it takes. Maybe we could give it a try, write something together...

Billie: Wow. Yeah, I'd be honored.

Rafael: I'm working on a new album-

Dice can't take any more of it. He leans in, sticks his hand out to Rafael.

Dice (to Rafael): Hey. DJ Dice

    They shake

Dice (continuing): Nice to meet ya. Word Up. Word to yo' mother.

He gives Rafael a big, phony wink, and downs the rest of his freshened drink.

Rafael clears his throat, sensing the tension. He stands up and bows his head.

Rafael: Well. I hope we'll meet again.
(To Dice) It was a pleasure...

And with that, he walks away

    Dice: So...
(motioning to Rafael) HE'D like to write a song with YOU? What, is he gonna pay you?

    Billie looks at him, incredulous.

    Billie: Dice! It's a opputunity-

Dice: Oh thank you so much Mr. Songwriter of the year. Get a f*cking life-

Billie: He didn't mean it like that-

Dice: "I'd like to write a song you..." Jesus. What is THAT?

Billie looks at Dice carefully, realizing how high he is. She gets up, motions for Roxanne and Louise to follow-

Billie: I think we should go home.
